We've been thinking about a machine that can help us memorize multiplication tables. Are you up for it?
The goal is to move all the pieces from gear 1, I don't know, to gear 5, I know, and thus learn the multiplication tables we have set out to learn.
Each day we take the tiles from each gear (on the first day there will only be tiles in slot 1) and try to solve them one by one. If we know the answer, we move it to the next gear. If we don't know the answer, we can check the result on the back of the tile, try to memorize it, and then place it back on the first gear. When the tile reaches the fifth gear, it means we have solved the multiplication correctly for five consecutive days; it's a consolidated learning experience.
